Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Program Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on-site in Redondo Beach, California.

The successful candidate is expected to be capable of managing technical work scope while coordinating across internal teams and external customers in a high-tempo environment. This role will actively work with the F-35 Development Program Manager (PM) and leadership team to integrate, control, and manage program requirements to ensure success of all Block 4 Programs and related activities. You will oversee and manage operational aspects of ongoing development projects and participate in day-to-day decision-making with managers, directors, and customers at various locations.  Regular activities include tracking and reporting of performance and technical progress, identification of staffing/resource needs, and the professional development of assigned staff. Responsibilities include meeting established cost and schedule targets and resolving technical and operational problems. Travel of up to 10% of the time may be required.

Regular responsibilities may include the following:

  • Support the F-35 Development Program Manager with execution of contracts to add new capabilities to the F-35 platform
  • Assist with achieving program financial targets, managing cost, schedule and technical performance of the portfolio
  • Establish milestones and monitor project team adherence to master plans and schedules
  • Assist with customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions to discuss cost, schedule, and performance
  • Facilitate data collection, aggregation, analysis, synthesis and summarized reporting of program activities
  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions that meet goals and objectives
  • Coordinate Risk, Issue and Opportunity management
  • Support the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, and budgets

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree AND 9+ years of related professional/military experience with a background in one or more of the following areas: Engineering Management, Program Management, Program Integration Lead, and/or Project Management Lead, OR a Master’s degree AND 7+ years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in one or more of the following areas: Engineering Management, Program Management, Program Integration Lead, and/or Project Management Lead
  • Must have at least 2 years formal Leadership experience in a People Leadership role
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading the development of new technology insertions onto aircraft platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and influence project team relationships
  • Experience of familiarity with aircraft production, supply chain, engineering, and logistics & modernization
  • Software Development experience, including Agile and DevSecOps processes
  • F-35 Program Familiarity
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance

Salary Range: $147,800 USD - $221,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
