Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Manager Programs 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located out of Colorado Springs, CO.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) system is a large, complex development, integration & test, sustainment and fielding program for the Missile Defense Agency. The program supports the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) operations and is fielded in 33 locations, including U.S. Strategic, Northern, European, Pacific, and Central Commands. The system operates 24/7 over 17-time zones and is supported by more than 48,000 miles of Defense Information Systems Agency communication lines. The system is the integrating element for the BMDS linking regional, theater and national commands into a single strategic command & control weapon system and provides a comprehensive view of the battlespace. C2BMC enables commanders at all levels to systematically plan, collectively see and dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage the cost, schedule, and technical baselines for the Spiral 8.2-5 scope of the C2BMC program. Provide leadership in Agile Iteration planning and execution.
  • Lead technical solution problem solving as part of Spiral Development.
  • Lead Program Management Reviews and Design Reviews.
  • Lead the exploitation of Opportunities and the mitigation of Risks.
  • Lead C2BMC Development activities to achieve Mission Success.
  • Lead Engineering Change Proposals.
  • Closely coordinate with other task order program managers, functional managers, and product leads to ensure all C2BMC program milestones and objectives are met to support system level testing.
  • Support Program Assessment Reviews, SCAMPI Audits, DCMA Audits, ISO Audits, Financial Audits, GAO Audits, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

If applicable, please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume.

  • An active Secret clearance is required.
  • 14 Years with Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 18 years’ experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experienced program manager.
  • Strong leadership skills, P/L leadership skills and business acumen to include a strong understanding of EVM.
  • Experience managing program schedules and business rhythms.
  • Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership. Strong customer relationship skills.
  • Experience with Software Development Programs.
  • Ability to Work across LM Lines of Business (LOBs) and Business Areas (BAs).
  • Experience in presenting to and communicating with high-level internal and external customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with C2BMC, Missile Defense Agency, or Missile Warning.
  • Experience with large multi-year Spiral Development and Sustainment Contracts.
  • Experience with Agile Dev Ops and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment.
  • Experience with Large Software Development Programs (>$200M).

Salary Range: $134,400 USD - $201,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
