Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Manager, Programs level 3 to join our diverse team of professionals. This leadership position is located in Melbourne, FL.

Candidate will lead the Aircrew Training System and Design Team on a restricted program.  The candidate will be responsible for the planning and execution of the Training System requirements Analysis (TSRA), development of all training courseware, and support the standup and utilization of a LMS/LCMS to support the program.  Successful candidate will develop/manage metrics that drive outcomes for cost/schedule, engage in process improvements, quality of training courseware products and implementation of Instructional System Design (ISD) practices during Training development.  Responsibilities include leading a team to establish, plan, and deliver recommended solutions to functional requirements associated with program and Training System requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leverage the instructional design (ISD) process to conduct needs assessments, develop learning objectives, design learning content, and measure effectiveness of aircrew training
  • Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and maintain updated technical information
  • Develop task lists, objectives, syllabi and training products according to DoD, USAF and AF Global Strike Command operating instructions and Instructional System Design (ISD)
  • Provide input to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.
  • Create instructional materials and products for technology-based courses - including online, mobile, immersive and performance support
  • Demonstrate and use effective needs analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify specific training needs and develop solutions for satisfying unique skills based training requirements.
  • Cost, schedule, and technical performance for all training aspects of program performance on a EMD-type contract.
  • Leadership of a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to present to all levels of leadership and customers
  • Ability to manage a high performing team of core learning and development professionals
  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, weekends and support on-call status when necessary.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of professional/military experience to include a background in instructional design and knowledge of instructional design tools and methodologies OR Master's Degree and 7 years of professional/military experience to include a background in instructional design and knowledge of instructional design tools and methodologies
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
  • Demonstrated hands-on knowledge of IPT/Program Management processes (CAM processes, project planning and scheduling, cost control, change control, EVMS, staffing, coordination and oversight of technical work effort and risk and opportunity management.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills that build relationships at all levels across the organization with a high capacity for influence, collaboration, and consensus-building
  • Strong critical thinking skills to identify interdependencies between issues, data, and outcomes; clear understanding of how moving pieces come together to build the big picture
  • Advance knowledge of ISD principals and process
  • Advance knowledge of the TSRA process and procedures
  • Experience (certificate or degree) as an Instructional Designer (ISD) in a DoD learning/training organization focused on analysis, design and development of aircrew curriculums and course materials utilizing multiple delivery modalities
  • Military Aircrew/Pilot experience
  • Possess exceptional problem-solving skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Active DoD Top Secret
  • Current Special Program access clearance

Salary range: $147,700 - $221

Salary Range: $147,700 USD - $221,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
