Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) sector is currently seeking a SR Principal Project Management Specialist to join our growing Program Execution and Operations (PE&O) team in the Emerging Capabilities Development (ECD) Division in Linthicum, Maryland. In this position you will have the opportunity to serve as Program Management Support personnel for the ECD Program Execution and Strategy Teams.

The candidate must possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills and effective problem-solving capabilities. They must be knowledgeable of Program Execution and Operations functions, scheduling techniques, continuous improvement strategies, readiness assessments, compliance requirements and financial practices to execute cost and schedule objectives and implement key strategic initiatives.

What You'll Get to Do:

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serves as liaison between the PE&O team and Strategy, as well as, other functions and sector/divisions to share information and provide support to benefit overall operational efficiency. 
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives across the BUs and OUs.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring PE&O goal progress and for intervention and problem solving with ECD staff and support functions. 
  • Supports functional focus areas initiatives for improvement/streamlining, development and execution of PE&O & Strategy; assist with initiatives that eliminate non-value-added activities.
  • Responsible for preparing for and facilitating a broad range of Functional PE&O organization meetings and events including TechFest, IRAD Awareness Reviews, Bilat Review with Production Divisions, in-person PE&O meetings and Agile projects.
  • Creates Teams Planner Bilat Action Tracking and Collaboration tasks with Production Division POCs.
  • Provides presentation support for PM training and tracks training modules and PM attendance.
  • Integrates day-to-day operational objectives to meet PE&O organization goals. Assists in managing the Linthicum campus site operations.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of related experience, or Master's degree and 8+ years of related experience (Note: An additional 4+ years of applicable work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree).
  • Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles or experiences in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Experience effectively multi-tasking and responding to competing priorities and schedules.
  • Experience setting up task schedules, tracking progress, and compiling data for status reporting metrics.
  • Experience in communication, both written and verbal, with customers and senior management.
  • Demonstrated experience with cross campus or multi-discipline collaboration.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • In depth knowledge of NG or large-scale corporate systems, policies and procedures.
  • The ability to identify and address project impacts through a systematic, proactive, approach to issue and problem resolution that identifies, communicates, monitors, and promptly resolves conflicts across all levels of the project.
  • Active Secret Clearance.

Salary Range: $102,200 USD - $153,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
