Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) sector is looking for a Manager, Programs Level 1 to support the Maritime/Land Systems & Sensors Division (MLSS) in Ocean Springs, MS.

What You'll Get to Do:

The Program Manager acts as a primary customer contact for all program activity at the shipyards. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to plans and schedules, identifies program issues and develops and enacts solutions. Establishes objectives, criteria and strategies for success. Collaborates with employees from engineering and other program areas to increase the effectiveness of our on-site presence. The ideal candidate will focus on being a servant-leader whose main goal is ensuring the team has all resources needed to meet commitments to the customer and the program. Participates in program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Develops new business or expands the program scope with the customer.

Primary responsibilities include the management of cost, schedule, and technical performance of the program including, but are not limited to: 

  • Cultivating customer relationships and intimacy to solidify relationship and develop further opportunities within the customer community.
  • Leading and directing cross-functional Integrated Program Teams (IPT) to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives.
  • Ensuring program team understands and adheres to contract scope and manages change through control board activities.
  • Driving measurable program performance.
  • Supporting presentations to customers, executive management and other program stakeholders.
  • Coordinating the preparation of proposals and participating in the negotiation of contracts, contract changes, budgets, schedule requirements, and key terms and conditions.
  • Development of and adherence to budget baselines using cost control methodologies.
  • Managing risks & opportunities through best practice.
  • Adherence to all internal processes, policies, and applicable industry standards.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s 3+ years experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries.
  • Experience in a shipyard environment.
  • Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal.
  • Must possess strong organization and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels of management and individual contributors.
  • Comfortable executing in a fast-paced demanding environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically as required.
  • U.S. citizenship with a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance (active or inactive and adjudicated within the last 5 years).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with C5i (Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Cyber and Intelligence) systems.
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.

Salary Range: $106,400 USD - $159,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
