Northrop Grumman Defensive Systems is seeking a project manager to lead our B-2 Aircrew Training team at Whiteman AFB , MO.  The qualified applicant will lead Northrop Grumman’s Aircrew Training team consisting of 10 employees tasked with instructing B-2 aircrew in the classroom and in aircrew trainers.  This position will have direct oversight of classroom and training device instruction supporting B-2 pilot initial qualification (IQT), requalification (RQT), basic qualification (BQT) and continuation training.  This position will develop subject matter expertise in B-2 aircraft systems and employment procedures.  He/she will plan, validate, and verify training missions for the weapon system trainer (WST) and cockpit procedures trainer (CPT).   Develop, review, revise, and evaluate courseware and training materials, including all CPT lessons.  Responsible for oversight of program support processes to ensure customer objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints and to meet program objectives. Lead and motivate personnel and interact effectively with internal and external customers.

Basic Qualification: 

  • 10 Years with Bachelors; 8 Years with Masters in education, computer, technical or related field and experience with computer based authoring systems (i.e. Microsoft Office Professional software suite or Adobe Captivate). 
  • U.S. citizenship is required. 
  • Secret DOD clearance is required. 
  • The ability to meet/maintain eligibility for Top Secret and special access programs is required to continue employment. 
  • A working knowledge of all regulations, instructions, procedures, technical orders, and other publications applicable to the candidate’s previous aircrew experience is required. 
  • The ability to operate the WST instructor operator station (IOS) and facilitate simulator missions is required.
  • Experience in curriculum and Instructional System Development (ISD) is required. 


Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Top Secret DOD clearance 
  • Former B-2 pilot or previous experience in the B-2 weapon system, six years minimum of instruction and training development experience, total flying time of 2000 hours or greater, experience in mission planning/STRIKEOPS, experience in developing computer based instruction, and an in-depth experience in mission planning/STRIKEOPS. 
  • Platform instructor experience and completion of a formal Criterion Referenced Instruction instructor training course is a plus. 
  • Being a graduate of the Advanced Instrument School in order to instruct the Instrument Refresher Course (IRC) is a plus. 

Salary Range: $12,100 USD - $181,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
