Northrop Grumman’s Defense sector is looking for a Manager Programs 2 to support the Mission Planning & Decision Support Operating Unit in Beavercreek, Ohio.

The primary objective will be the delivery of all contractual requirements on cost and on schedule, while achieving all technical requirements and creating customer intimacy to support value creation strategies and actions.  The individual will also be responsible to conduct business development and capture activities to support product sales and organizational growth.  

Program Managers are responsible for leading all phases of the program life cycle from inception (proposal development) through startup, execution, and completion (contract closeout).  Primary responsibilities are the management of cost, schedule, and technical performance of company programs, including but not limited to:

  • Developing new business opportunities through long term strategic planning, capture planning, and development of proposals and business plans.

  • Cultivating customer relationships and intimacy to develop further opportunities within the customer community.

  • Develop business and engineering strategy for product growth.

  • Measuring and reporting program and product performance.

  • Delivering presentations to customers, management and other program and product stakeholders.

  • Monitor, track, and report on funding used to improve product.

  • Identification, distribution, tracking, and completion of program requirements.

  • Identifying, allocating and managing program and product resources, including workforce planning.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED with a minimum 14 year’s relevant experience; OR a minimum of 10 years relevant experience with bachelor’s degree in management or related degree; OR a minimum of 8 years relevant experience with master’s degree management or related degree

  • Experience with project budgeting and scheduling, with on-time delivery

  • Experience with common project management tools (MS Project, etc.)

  • Experience with project/program risk assessments

  • Experience developing business opportunities

  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with small to large teams and customer stakeholders

  • Must have an active Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions

  • Experience with program leadership

  • Ability to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results


Salary Range: $134,400 USD - $201,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
