Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems in Magna, Utah has an opening for a Sr. Principal Project Management. 

Job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Selected candidate oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between material program management and functional teams.
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with material program managers, functional area leaders, and clients.

  • Sales/revenue forecast responsibility
  • EAC/budget responsibility
  • MBOM validation
  • Proposal pricing support
  • Earned Value Management driven variance analysis and reporting
  • Manage higher complexity BOM items; research status of materials and expedite into stock; advises leadership of status of work in progress, material availability, and potential problems; communicate changes to impacted stakeholders
  • Lower complexity IPT leadership; responsible for interfacing with integrated product teams and design engineers to understand the part need dates and prioritize; responsible for tracking aging issues and coordinating with proper functions to drive issues to closure
  • Systems, Tools, & Data Mining Subject Matter Expert
  • Operations, Logistics and Planning Management

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • 9 years experience in Supply Chain Management, Demand Management, Project Management, or Program Integration/Execution with Bachelor’s or similar; 7 years with Masters
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office tool suite; the ability to create, manage, and manipulate the tools, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Proven leadership experience on a project and/or team
  • Experience interfacing cross-functionally with all levels of employees and leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EVMS certification
  • APICS or PMI Certification
  • Master’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Project Management or Engineering
  • Data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Scheduling ERP or MRP systems
  • Experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity, capacity, and efficiency measurements
  • Aerospace and/or Defense Industry experience

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off


Salary Range: $89,800 USD - $134,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
