   Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) has been contracted to provide technical support to the Japanese Air Self Defense Force (JASDF) E-2 organization in Misawa, Japan.  This consists of a team of Field Service Representatives (FSR) 12 total employees currently.  This team is also responsible for the delivery of additional new E-2D aircraft that are transported to Iwakuni MCAS via surface ship and offloaded. The team preps the aircraft and provides O-level servicing capability to then allow aircraft delivery flights to Misawa for JASDF Acceptance.

      The primary performing location will be at the combined Misawa Air Base. Additional operating bases in Southern Japan, Naha Air Base and other locations are being discussed that NGC may provide periodic detachment support as requested. Some travel to Tokyo for interaction with JMOD and Tokyo NGC country team is also expected.

  

NGDS has an opening for a Manager of Aircraft Maintenance 1 / Japan Area manager in support of this effort.  This position will report directly to the NGDS Program Manager based in Melbourne FL.

The Misawa Area manager is the primary daily point of contact for NGC E-2 Program with JASDF E-2 squadron leadership and maintenance personnel. He/she will also coordinate with the local NAVAIR program WSLO for all communications with NAVAIR and JASDF.

The Misawa Area manager for NGDS will provide pro-active leadership managing the daily operations of a 12+ person NGDS FSR team. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • As the prime interface with our JASDF customer, you will be tasked to deliver high levels of Customer Satisfaction
  • You will be responsible as a P&L center to ensure that cost and schedule objectives are met, while ensuring that your team’s performance delivers a quality technical support.
  • Will be tasked to recruit qualified candidates to support staffing for any backfill of current positions or possible expansion of the team size.
  • Ensure appropriate training for departmental personnel is conducted and maintained.
  • Provide supervision and direction to FSRs in carrying out aircraft maintenance functions or training of JASDF maintenance personnel as required.
  • Ensure that assigned aircraft maintenance work is properly performed and is legibly documented.
  • Ensure that the team remains in full compliance with all Policies and Procedures; especially as it relates to Safety, FOD and Tool Control. Responsible for GOPS.
  • Initiate and approve administrative personnel actions including PTO, pay changes, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers, and leaves of absence as well as any disciplinary actions required.
  • Document, report, and investigate all accidents in accordance with established policy and procedures.
  • Tasked to maintain team compliance with all administrative tasking.
  • Ensure compliance with all ITAR reporting requirements.
  • You will be tasked to help develop briefings and generate Quarterly CDRL Reports providing technical support provided.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience in an aviation maintenance supervisory and/or management position or a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of aircraft maintenance experience
  • Must have active DOD Secret Clearance to start and be able to maintain that clearance.
  • Managerial or Team Leader experience
  • USN E-2 Squadron or Air Wing Level maintenance experience must exceed 3 years and familiarity with aircraft inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, removals, and repairs.
  • Understanding of IETM’s (interactive Electronic Technical Manuals)
  • Working knowledge of the NAVAIR 4790 (NAMP).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently in an Overseas environment.
  • Ability to multi-task various projects at a time and complete in a timely manner

Preferred Qualifications:

  • U.S. Navy Maintenance Master Chief Navy Enlisted Code (NEC) 8300 or equivalent job classification title (Air Wing Maintenance Officer) with 3+ years of experience in comparable job position.
  • Experience deployed or on remote programs (away from home office)

Salary Range: $84,200 USD - $126,200 USD
