Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.


Northrop Grumman is seeking to fill a Principal Project Management role. This position will be located at our Defense Systems Sector in Sierra Vista, AZ.

  

The qualified candidate will become part of the Northrop Grumman’s Autonomous Systems Operating Unit. The selected candidate will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.

In this role, the selected candidate will be expected to:

   

  • Review status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports

  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives

  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, functional managers, and clients

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Five years related experience with a BA/BS degree; four years with a master’s degree or in lieu of a degree additional years of experienced with a High School diploma with at least six years of direct relevant experience

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and present technical data and analysis results

  • Excellent communication and critical thinking/analytical skills

  • US Citizen w/DoD SECRET Interim Clearance required to start

  • MS Office suite (Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, OneNote) operational proficiency

  • Experience with analyzing and reporting data to management

  • Proficient with Earned Value Management and MS

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • General familiarity with Product Support discipline and the Technical Publications development specifically

  • UAS support experience

  • Experience with databases: SharePoint, EAGLE, and SAP

  • Experience working with Jira

  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional, community, extracurricular)


Salary Range: $74,600 USD - $111,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $0 USD - $93,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
