Northrop Grumman's Space Systems Sector is seeking a Business Management Manager 3 for the Mission Integration Operating Unit. The Business Management Manager 3 will be a direct report to the Mission Integration and Phoenix Program Director. The Manager will partner with the Business Unit Business Director and Program Direction to manage all financial aspects to achieve the Operating Unit’s and Division Strategy team’s financial and strategic objectives. 

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinate and lead all business management functions and collaborate with contracts, pricing, accounting, cost management, GSC finance, financial planning and program scheduling.
  • Provide financial business analysis and reporting with the ability to clearly communicate with senior management as it relates to financial program status and analyses.
  • Develop business strategy and forecasting, through internal or external deliverables such as the Long Range Strategic Plan and the Annual Operating Plan.
  • Oversee key line forecasting, work authorization, implementation of EV reporting, program budgeting, estimate at complete development, and various financial reporting activities.
  • Coordinate cost and schedule analyses and preparation of reports to ensure contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon cost and schedule parameters and government cost control guidelines.
  • Develop proposals from draft RFP to award, including review of RFP, FAR clauses, coordination with subcontractor flow-downs, basis of estimates, indirect rates, pricing strategies, cash management, negotiation strategy and oversight, and presenting to Senior Management.
  • Manage risks with multiple contract types from both an execution and financial perspective.
  • Mentor and develop professional and management talent within the operating unit.
  • Program startup efforts and support of the Integrated Baseline Review (IBR) and required data submittals.
  • Development of detailed business case analysis and return on investment analysis.

The candidate will maintain the highest level of commitment to quality, compliance and internal controls in adherence to company values and ethics.  The position requires some travel to customer and other off-site locations.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline with 8 years or Master's degree in a business-related discipline with 6 years of business management experience (financial planning/reporting, strategic planning, cost proposals, project execution/management, contracts, pricing and/or budget controls and analysis)
  • Experience with program proposals, cost and schedule control, program budgeting, accounting and forecasting for DoD programs Familiarity with business strategy and forecasting, through internal or external deliverables such a Long Range Strategic Plan or Annual Operating Plan
  • Experience with program proposals, cost and schedule control, program budgeting and forecasting
  • Earned Value and financial reporting experience on a variety of contract types
  • Strong understanding of government contracting and regulations, to include FAR and CAS
  • The willingness and ability to travel domestically 10% of the time
  • Current, active TS/SCI security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ Years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role
  • A current Top Secret Clearance completed within the last five years.


Salary Range: $176,100 USD - $264,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
