Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Project Manager to join our B-21 Strike team. This position will be located onsite in Palmdale, CA. 

The selected candidate will be part of Program Integration Team (PIT), supporting seating, infrastructure and facilities projects.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities for this position may include (but are not limited to):

  • Plans, directs and manages all phases of facilities modification and building projects from establishment of design concepts through design and implementation
  • Planning physical space for program expansion and assuring the availability of hardware and software resources
  • Ensures project requirements are defined, contract, and contract changes are negotiated, operating budgets established, and financial terms/conditions of contract are identified
  • Coordinate/Facilitate Facilities and IT requests
  • Attend IPT and Cost Center level meetings and boardwalks
  • Respond to help needed
  • Prepare, provide, maintain, and present project status to internal PIT leadership
  • Responsibility, Authority, Accountability (RAA) for project cost, schedule, quality
  • Author/Reviewer of requirements documents
  • Review/Redline project design drawings with stakeholders
  • Coordinate/Facilitate StS tickets and submit vFire tickets
  • Populate and maintain currency in Archibus database
  • Employee resourcing (ie: phones, computers, ergo desks, etc)
  • Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans, budgets and schedules
  • Identifies problems and develops solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing project scope
  • Focal point between the Program and the Facilities Department
  • Arranging security escorts for contractors
  • Work with security to comply with security requirements and IT for data and communication requirements.
  • Coordinate the work of employees and contractors assigned to projects.
  • Lead and train others on the team

The selected candidate shall adhere to NG processes. This individual should have demonstrated Project Management experience and strong interpersonal skills, be organized, flexible, and be a team player. Some travel may be required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • 10 years of Project Management experience; 8 year with a Master's Degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tool suite: PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, Outlook
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate to leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects, simultaneously
  • Must have Active secret or Top secret clearance (last investigation completed within last 6 years)
  • Ability to attain and maintain program access (PAR) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited university
  • 12+ years of Project Management experience
  • Project Management Experience or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate
  • Experience working in an aircraft manufacturing environment
  • Experience with any of the following: Sharepoint, Tableau, Archibus
  • Existing PAR

Salary Range: $103,900 USD - $155,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
