Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Project Management 3/4 position to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located onsite either San Diego CA, or Palmdale, CA. The selected employee does have flexibility to choose from any of our regular works scheduled: 5/40, 9/80, or 4/10s!

Job Role: Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and program office. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Collaborates with Subcontract Specialists to develop and update material forecasting profiles in alignment with monthly supplier invoicing plans. Monitors subcontractor performance by attending Supplier Management Team (SMT) meetings, performance reviews, analyzing progress reports, and administers independent analysis of performance data provided by the subcontractor.

This opening may be hired at either the Level 3 or Level 4 depending upon a candidates experience and qualifications.

Basic Qualifications (Level 3):

  • Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of related experience or Master's Degree with 4 years related experience.
  • Must have an active Secret DoD Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access

Basic Qualifications (Level 4):

  • Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of related experience or Master's Degree with 8 years of related experience.
  • Must have an active Secret DoD Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace background
  • SAP Experience
  • CAM Certified
  • MS office Suite knowledge
  • Top Secret Clearance
  • Active Program Access

This position reports to Palmdale, CA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from San Diego, CA, CA, USA.


Salary Range: $86,300 USD - $129,500 USD
Salary Range 2: $107,000 USD - $160,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
