Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager, Project Management Level 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA and be required to be in-office, with little telecommute opportunity at this time to support the position and program needs.

This position oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and program management for the RQ-4 Enterprise and Business Area. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

This position oversees and manages business area operations to include the establishment and ongoing maintenance of the overall strategic rhythm to create a productive management cadence that ensure the visibility of our critical development per plan.  In addition, this role drives a horizontal and vertical integration action between the IPTs and Functions to ensure the health of our people, processes and tools are being addressed in our programs.  This role ensures risks, issues and critical actions are being addressed down into the organization.  This role includes active participation and facilitation of program management reviews and Division reviews.  This role will also entail special assignments on areas of critical importance to include, but not limited to staffing assessment and visibility metrics, employee engagement survey analysis and coordinated action plan development with the IPTs, operational efficiency, etc.

This position is also responsible for direct line of leadership for a team of project management personnel to include performance management, staffing, career development/planning and engagement.  The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments and collaborative/team settings across all levels. 

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years’ experience or a Master’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in project and/or program management

Active DoD Secret clearance to apply/start

Experience leading small teams

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree

International program experience

Experience with Facilities

Demonstrated understanding of program risk, opportunity and issue management process


Salary Range: $122,200 USD - $183,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
