Job Description:

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is looking for a Project Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This project management position will support an Integrated Product Team (IPT) on the B-21 program located in Melbourne, FL. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual, with an eagerness to learn, and a passion for managing concurrent and effective projects. The selected candidate should have a willingness to explore new project management techniques and develop them in a team environment.

This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. There is no teleworking option available. 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and support the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management, the project team, and line management.
  • Review status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Serve as a cost account manager (CAM).
  • Assess project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and customers.
  • Maintain various metrics and develops associated dashboards for presentations.
  • Tool and metric development, and management of small projects within the larger program and business area.
  • Support of internal and customer meetings including meeting presentation collection, and content generation, action item tracking, and post-meeting follow-up.
  • Develop customer relationships and customer intimacy.

This position can be filled at the Project Management (level 2) or Principal Project Management (Level 3):

Basic Qualifications:

  • Level 2: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and 7 years of relevant experience. Will consider a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience supporting Aerospace, Department of Defense, Government contracts, or project management experience; or 1 year with Master’s degree. 
  • Level 3: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and 10 years of relevant experience. Will consider a Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience supporting Aerospace, Department of Defense, Government contracts, or project management experience; or 4 years with Master’s degree. 
  • Current DoD Secret Clearance with a Periodic Review within the last five calendar years.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access within 365 days of submission.

  • Ability to communicate with multiple levels of the organization having excellent presentation skills.

  • Highly experienced using Microsoft (MS) Office products to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience following work instructions and process documents to learn how to complete standardized tasks.
  • Analytical thinker.
  • Self-driven and takes ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Produces high quality products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines. 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills. 
  • Experience in contracts executing full earned value management. 
  • Experience with CAM and EVM methodologies. 
  • Experience working within an Integrated Product Team (IPT). 
  • Experience with Risk Management, Return to Green (RTG) plans, and scheduling cross functional activities. 
  • Experience using SharePoint, Tableau, JIRA, Kanban Boards.
  • PMP Certification. 


Salary Range: $60,600 USD - $111,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
