Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Business Operations Manager to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Business Operations Manager for the MS Operations Airborne Multifunction Sensors (AMS) organization reports directly to the Mission Systems (MS) Vice President of Operations for AMS.

The Business Operations Manager will manage the business operational aspects of the Operations AMS organization and provide direct support to the Vice President ensuring the leaders’ vision is translated into an operational reality. The position will require interface across the Operations AMS leadership team and coordination of activities across locations and sites.

The Business Operations Manager position requires a high energy strategic thinker with the ability to operate at both a strategic and a hands-on level as needed. Responsibilities of the position will include but are not limited to:

  • Drive execution of strategic initiatives and tasks initiated by the Operations AMS Vice President by working with cross-functional teams and business leaders throughout the organization and sector
  • Establish and maintain the operating rhythm for the Operations AMS Vice President, the Operations AMS Leadership Team and the AMS Division leadership.
  • Ownership for roles of Deputy Product Owner & Scrum Master for Operations AMS Leadership Agile Team
  • Serve as the focal point for communication and collaboration for Operations AMS and ensure strong collaboration across the entire Operations AMS business to include operations, division facing and engineering leadership.
  • Facilitate AMS division engagement and reviews with Operations AMS and Division leadership teams.
  • Lead internal special projects as requested by the Vice President, to include activities such as: establishing and leading a cross-functional team, developing and monitoring objectives, briefing Vice President and senior leaders, and facilitating broader communication across sector employees as appropriate.
  • Support the Vice President in cultivation of relationships with strategic partners and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate across all Operations AMS areas on organizational strategy discussions (off sites, roadmap development, engagement / diversity & inclusion planning)
  • Work with Operations AMS leadership team to support workforce planning, metrics and movement of work across campuses.
  • Perform analysis, planning and forecasting to aid in leadership, financial and organizational decision making. Facilitate the collection and presentation of metrics and develop analytical tools to track results and measurable outcomes stated objectives/goals.
  • Coordinate Operations AMS financials and management of any investments (ITA/Capital, etc.) across the organization. Lead monthly metrics meetings to review past month performance, lookahead files, and strategize methods for improving on-time req release and SOTD
  • Support HR in the facilitation of People Development process / reviews
  • Establish agenda and coordinate preparation for leadership team meetings, off sites, events, and other key meetings.
  • Shadow the Vice President in major meetings and events, reviewing the agenda and the pre- and post-interactions to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Anticipate and manage materials, data, and presentation needs for upcoming meetings and events.
  • Brief the Vice President on key issues, challenges and decisions made at meetings.
  • Work with the administrative team to facilitate staff meetings (establish rhythms, coordinate special topics)
  • Plan, coordinate, and support Vice President travel to domestic and international MS sites.
  • Draft organizational communications related to calendar events and functional processes

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of relevant experience (OR a Master's degree and 7+ years of relevant experience; OR a PhD and 4+ years of relevant experience)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret SCI
  • Prior leadership experience in either a functional or program roles.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills as well as project management, analytical, planning, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong Jira and Confluence Skills
  • Experience in Agile Leadership
  • Experience as a Scrum Master
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and projects within critical deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and SharePoint skills.
  • The candidate should also be familiar with organizations and stakeholders outside of Engineering & Sciences to include demonstrated experience with cross campus or multi-discipline collaboration.
  • Active Top Secret SCI

Salary Range: $139,000 USD - $208,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
