We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal Project Manager based out of Ocean Springs, MS. What you’ll get to do:

Marine Systems specializes in the development, manufacture, assembly, and testing of missile launching and handling systems and propulsion and power generation systems for naval surface ships and submarines.

 

The Technical Publications organization, a component of the Engineering Department, produces missile launcher manuals for the Strategic Systems Programs organization and other programs, as well as propulsion and power generation manuals for EB/NAVSEA.

 

The candidate must have a track record as an effective communicator, team leader, and project manager who is able to develop excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management within the Technical Publications group.
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Performs editorial reviews of technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.
  • Develop subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.
  • Takes strong ownership to drive documentation through process from inputs to final distribution.
  • Conducts preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Executes verification/validation of procedures through hardware design, testing, up to final document distribution.
  • Develops new concepts, techniques, and standards; able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.  Support implementation to a team of technical writers and text processors
  • Works with management on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in presenting to internal and external stakeholders at reviews/documentation conferences.  Develop agendas and captures minutes to assess documentation impacts.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience; Master’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years’ experience. Additional 4 years’ experience may be considered in lieu of Degree.  
  • Experience with CAM/EVM systems.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with database structures for supporting of technical information databases.
  • Active Security Clearance.

Salary Range: $74,600 USD - $111,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
