Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Project Controls Specialist/Sr Principal Project Controls Specialist. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. 

What You’ll Get To Do: 

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage Project Controls for one or more projects, including project planning, scheduling, cost tracking, performance measurement, and reporting in an EVMS environment.

  • Develop WBS and project cost coding structures.

  • Utilize project management systems and tools to update and manage project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.

  • Develop and maintain cost loaded or resource loaded schedules using critical path methodology.

  • Conduct project performance analysis using industry standard earned value management processes and techniques.

  • Support project controls reporting requirements for weekly and monthly status reporting.

  • Maintain project budgets and forecast spending plans.

  • Prepare labor and subcontractor commitment analysis reports.

  • Prepare program and project cash flow analysis.

  • Develop and maintain project accrual reports.

  • Provide support for proposals and project change requests to include schedule development, estimate development, pricing proposals, and client negotiations.

  • Lead administrative and document control support across multiple construction projects in execution.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Principal Project Controls Specialist: 6 Years of experience with Bachelor’s degree; 4 Years with Masters; 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Sr Principal Project Controls Specialist: 10 Years of experience with Bachelor’s degree; 8 Years with Masters; 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.

  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance.

  • Experience related to project controls/cost-schedule on federal construction projects.

  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management System principles.

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office software suite of applications to include MS Project.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management.

  • Proficiency with Primavera P6.

  • Formal professional certification (PMI, AACE, etc.).

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.

Salary Range: $74,600 USD - $111,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $92,400 USD - $138,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
