Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Operations Project Manager 2. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support Strategic Deterrence Systems (SDS) Division as the Special Projects, New Construction and Strategic Planning manager for the Site Operations Department.  

This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. 

What You’ll Get To Do:

  • Lead a team of Project Managers and Facility Engineers in the oversight of any Division facility modification, modernization or new construction activity that exceeds $150K
  • Work with the program teams to derive and generate facility requirement documents (FRD’s)
  • Provides direction for all phases of a construction project to including development of a an FRD, identifying appropriate funding source, design maturation and review, construction, and beneficial occupancy.
  • Stand up a new Strategic Planning team that focuses on SDS Division space planning and utilization of existing assets and potential future needs.
  • Forecast new business growth models by working with key stakeholders within the various programs to identify future staffing demands that may drive facility modification and/or new lease opportunities.
  • Manges to the current baseline and defines future inputs to the long-range strategic plan (LRSP) and annual operating plan (AOP)
  • Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans, budgets, and schedules. Identifies problems and develops solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing project scope.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of related experience or 4 additional years of related experience in lieu of degree to equal 10 years of related experience
  • At least 1 year of experience leading facilities construction projects.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance with the ability to attain Special Program Access
  • 2 years of experience working with construction projects, facilities drawings, and building/design layouts. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • An active Special Program Access.
  • Northrop Grumman experience in facilities engineering and/or leading construction projects.
  • Experience standing up facilities and new organizations.
  • Experience managing and forecasting capital needs and provides input to the LRSP and AOP
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to interact with all stakeholders and SDS Leadership.


Salary Range: $105,600 USD - $158,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
