The Sentinel (GBSD) program is looking for a Principal Project Manager/Sr. Principal Project Manager to join our Program Integration Team located in Roy, UT. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You’ll Get To Do:
This position is responsible for vertical and horizontal integration within Command and Launch. Disciplines to include master planning, configuration and data management, digital engineering, business management, risk management, processes and tools, engineering, etc. This position regularly interfaces with senior management across the company and our customers. The selected candidate will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. The candidate will also review status of projects and budget, manage schedules and prepare status reports, assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. The selected candidate will also develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with managers.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an integration function for Command and Launch engaging in many ad hoc activities required to ensure streamlined cadence and execution.

  • Collaborate across all functions within the program to develop advanced concepts, techniques and requirements for new applications and tools.

  • Coordinate schedules, and provide Liaison assistance between the interfacing IPTs for test facility utilization and access

  • Support the Command and Launch Team with vertical and horizontal integration activities in Roy Utah.

Successful candidates will have the following key attributes:

  • Proactive – anticipates requirements from higher management, and initiate and complete actions required to meet those requirements.

  • Perceptive – sees the “big picture” but is also able to focus on the details and follows all of them through to completion.

  • Composed – maintains a “level head” in the extremely dynamic, fast-paced, and demanding environment, especially when working closely with management on projects with highly compressed timelines and tight deadlines.

  • Discretion – self-initiates tasks with considerable latitude for independent judgment.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Principal Project Manager: 6 years with Bachelors; 4 years with Masters; or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.

  • Sr. Principal Project Manager: 10 years with Bachelors; 8 years with Masters; or 14 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.

  • Must have U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain secret level clearance.

  • Must have the ability to obtain, and maintain access to Special Access Programs (SAP)  as a condition of continued employment.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles and execution of a large complex program.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team.

  • Experience with high level customer engagement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP certification.

  • Experience in system development.

  • Experience working within a multi-team environment.

  • Experience with Engineering Procurement System and Capital/Gov't Hardware Control.

  • Experience with schedule management, risk management and performance management.

  • Experience facilitating Program Reviews.

  • Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM).

  • Experience with tableau and data analytics.

  • Experience with earned value management knowledge in a program management capacity.

  • Experience with high level customer engagement.

  • Experience with Agile Project Management.

  • Experience with creating and monitoring test metrics.

Salary Range: $74,600 USD - $111,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $92,400 USD - $138,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
