We have an opening for a Project Manager: Electrical Engineering to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Tactical Space organization. This position will be located in Dulles, VA or can also be located in Gilbert, AZ.

In this role you will:

  • Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management
  • Review status of projects and budgets
  • Manage schedules and prepare status reports
  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients

Daily Responsibilities Include:

  • Development of Integrated Master Schedules for engineering work as well as maintenance and execution of the schedule
  • Generation of Basis of Estimate (BOEs) for engineering labor and material
  • Serve as a liaison within the Electrical Engineering Organization and other internal and external organizations such as Global Supply Chain (GSC) and suppliers
  • Provide oversight for Electrical Engineering financial control and maintenance of budgets including EVMS indices and Variance reporting, and Baseline Change Request
  • Prepare status reports on the health of projects. Identify risks and opportunities as well as Return to Green plans. Retire Risks
  • Brief Electrical Engineering Mgmt. in critical weekly status reviews, Proposal signoffs, Program Reviews, etc.
  • Support engineering with creation of Statement of Works for both internal and external deliverables
  • Coordinate supplier deliverables
  • Lead a diverse team of engineers in design and development of new products within cost and schedule

To be successful you should have:

  • Experience leading a cost account to include conducting Earned Value (EVMS) cost -control
  • Experience leading a multi-discipline team in design & development of a new product
  • Experience managing and directing subcontracts
  • Project Management experience in an engineering and/or manufacturing environment such as harness, electrical power, command and data handling, test engineering, ground support design & development, and/or RF engineering
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project

This position can be filled at the Principal or Sr. Principal level.

Basic Qualifications:

Principal

  • 6 year of experience with a Bachelor’s degree (4 years with a Masters.)  Experience can be considered in lieu of degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Profession (PmP) Certification
  • EVMS Certification / Training
  • STEM degree

This position reports to Dulles, VA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Gilbert, AZ, AZ, USA.


Salary Range: $74,600 USD - $111,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $107,000 USD - $160,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
