Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems sector is looking for a Product line risk manager to support the ESPASat Product line within the Satellite Programs Department.

A successful candidate works well in a fast-paced environment and enjoys the opportunity to define possible. Risk manager assists in the definition, planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of risk and opportunity management efforts. Risk manager consists of a wide breadth of tasks including: approving risk and opportunity while handling approaches, mitigation planning and approval of opportunity exploitation plans, and coordination between product line managers and external Customers. Risk manager will assure integration of the EVMS (Earned Value Management) process with the risk and opportunity management process. A successful risk manager informs and advises higher level management on critical project risks with appropriate mitigations and facilitates meetings and coordinate risks within a program. As a risk manager, you are in charge of determining important financial safety and security risks for Northrop Grumman’s satellite programs. An effective risk manager will find ways to reduce those risks through proactive planning and problem-solving. Risk manager should be able to think outside the box to envision future risks that might be otherwise unnoticeable to others.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications listed below.

Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a Principal level or Sr. Principal level .

Basic Qualifications for Principal Project Risk Manager 3:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries or 4 years of experience with a Masters Degree. In lieu of a degree, 10 years of applicable experience will be considered.

  • Risk Management experience

  • Candidate must have US Citizenship and a Top-Secret clearance with ability to obtain an SCI level access.

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Project Risk Manager 4:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries or 8 years of experience with a Masters Degree. In lieu of a degree, 14 years of applicable experience will be considered.

  • Risk Management experience

  • Candidate must have US Citizenship and a Top-Secret clearance with ability to obtain an SCI level access.

Preferred Qualifications for Principal & Sr. Principal Project Risk Manager:

  • Active Top Secret with SCI Clearance

  • Experience in the space industry

  • Database development or management

  • Earned Value Management training

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

  • Risk management certification

  • Strong organizational and leader


Salary Range: $86,300 USD - $129,500 USD
Salary Range 2: $107,000 USD - $160,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
