Northrop Grumman is seeking a Strategy & Business Development Manager for naval aviation.  The position is based in the Washington, D.C., area.  The position will be responsible for 1) providing operational and technical expertise to support the development of cutting-edge naval aviation systems and concepts of operation; 2) supporting the development and execution of business development strategies; 3) interfacing with customers and other government stakeholders; and 4) engaging with the broader defense strategy, policy, budgeting, and acquisition community.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years’ experience OR a Master’s and 7+ years’ professional/military experience that includes a background in business development and/or project/program management.
  • The applicant must understand and be familiar with U.S. naval strike-fighter aviation. 
  • Strong communication skills are required, to include the ability to generate and present material to customers and senior executives. 
  • The applicant must be able to gain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Frequent travel to other company and customer facilities may be required. 

Preferred:

  • Be able to function as part of an integrated team. 
  • An advanced degree and 10+ years’ military experience is preferred. 
  • Experience piloting and/or operating U.S. naval strike-fighter aircraft is preferred. 
  • Graduate of the United States Navy Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor program (SFTI / TOPGUN) program and understanding of U.S. Navy strike fighter weapons and tactics is preferred.
  • Familiarity with naval aviation aircraft carrier operations, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Navy Staff (OPNAV), and/or the Air Warfare Division (N98) is preferred. 
  • Familiarity with US Navy strategy, policy, budgets, requirements, and acquisition processes is preferred. 
  • An active security clearance is preferred. 


Salary Range: $151,000 USD - $226,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
