The Chief of Staff for the Office of the Sector Strategy & Technology Office will report to the Strategic Operations Director and will be responsible for ensuring that the Strategy & Technology Vice President and their team’s deliverables are being executed in alignment with sector strategies and priorities. 

Regular travel between DS locations in McLean, VA and other DS locations will be required. The Chief of Staff works with leaders across the organization to facilitate the dissemination of information and expedite the implementation of strategic initiatives across the sector. This position also manages the administrative and operational affairs of the Off Sector Strategy & Technology Office and is a member of the Sector Strategy & Technology Leadership Team. 

 

The Chief of Staff is responsible for a broad range of sector internal operations: 

• Drives execution of strategic initiatives and tasks initiated by the Sector Strategy & Technology VP working with cross-functional teams and business leaders across the organization. 

• Establishes and strategically reviews the operating rhythm for the Sector Strategy & Technology VP and their leadership team. 

• Establishes agenda and coordinates preparation for leadership team meetings, events, and other key sector meetings. 

• Prepares and manages content development and monthly reporting of the Sector Operating Objectives (SOOs) and non-financial metrics. 

• Is the focal point for communication and collaboration for the sector and division/functional operations functions. Facilitates division engagement and reviews with sector leadership. 

• Shadows the Sector Strategy & Technology VP in major meetings and events, reviewing the agenda and the pre-and post-interactions to ensure successful outcomes. 

• Anticipates and manages the materials, data and presentation needs for upcoming meetings and events. 

• Partners with communications and other leaders to ensure the Sector Strategy & Technology VP is prepared for all speaking engagements (both internal and external).  

• Briefs the Sector Strategy & Technology VP on key issues, challenges and decisions made at meetings. Supports the Sector Strategy & Technology VP in cultivation of relationships with strategic partners and other stakeholders. 

• Participates in planning and coordination of Sector Strategy & Technology VP travel to DS sites, domestic and international.  

• Leads internal special projects as requested by the Sector Strategy & Technology VP, to include activities such as: establishing and leading a cross-functional team, developing and monitoring objectives, and facilitating broader communication across sector employees as appropriate. 

 

Basic Qualifications:  

  • ·Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 7 + years of experience. 
  • Ability to travel up to 25% and flexibility in day-to-day work location around Virginia. 
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance. 
  • Must be able to work onsite in McLean, Virginia.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of 3 + years of project management experience and 3 or more years of technical experience preferred.
  •  High energy strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to operate at both a strategic and a hands-on level as needed. 
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and projects within critical deadlines. 
  • Strong data analytic capability and attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as project management, analytical, planning, and presentation skills are required. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships with others, including ability to interact effectively with senior level management. 
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information. 
  • Highly advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint skills. 

Salary Range: $145,500 USD - $218,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
