Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Project Manager (level 3) or Senior Principal Project Manager (level 4) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Global Supply Chain organization (GSC). Role reports to Communication Systems Global Supply Chain Program Management within the Communications Systems (CS) Business Unit within the Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD). This position will be located in Space Park Redondo Beach, CA and can be filled with either a level 3 or level 4.
This position requires an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance at time of application. Additionally, please be aware that this position will be contingent upon capturing program award and obtaining customer funding.
In this job, you will:
Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Defines and develops material strategy.
- Responsible for the assessment of supply resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements; plans inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough-cut capacity for all products.
- Participates in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management.
- Analyzes and aggregates supply / demand requirements.
- Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.
- Plans inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements.
- Assesses rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements.
- Participates in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs.
- Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements for the program and coordinates with the GSC Procurement to engage suppliers
Basic Qualifications:
- Level 3: Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in subcontracts, contracts, or business/project management; or Master’s Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience in subcontracts, contracts, or business/project management
- Level 4: Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of relevant experience in subcontracts, contracts, or business/project management; or Master’s Degree and 6+ years of relevant experience in subcontracts, contracts, or business/project management
- Active DoD Secret clearance at time of application
- Knowledgeable of Advanced Planning (AP), Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Parts Management Integration (PMI) Processes
- Basic familiarity with SAP
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret or SCI clearance
- Demonstrates leadership success and ability to gain influence with peers and others in a matrixed organization
- Highly effective interpersonal skills, commitment to fostering an engaging environment for others and excellent communication skills
- Experience in Space programs
- Master’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain or STEM
- Proficient in Earned Value Managements Systems, supplier financial reporting/forecasting, contracting/subcontracting or supplier/program/product scheduling
- Demonstrated working knowledge of supplier financial reporting/forecasting and scheduling
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
