Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Project Management/Sr. Principal Project Management integrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Redondo Beach, California.
The successful candidate is expected to be a highly motivated, resourceful, self-starter able to work collaboratively with internal teams and external customers in high-tempo environments. This role will actively work with the F-35 Development Program Manager (PM) and leadership team to integrate, control, and manage program requirements to ensure success of a portfolio of Development contracts. You will integrate the operational aspects of ongoing development projects and serve as liaison between program management, program integration and project teams. Travel of up to 10% of the time may be required.
Essential functions of role:
- Support the F-35 Development PM and Leadership to accomplish a variety of precise, time-sensitive monthly deliverables, metrics, and presentations
- Collaborate across Functions to ensure all F-35 Development Operating Unit objectives are met
- Assist with monitoring progress, assessing project issues and driving actions to closure to meet program goals and objectives
- Perform program resource management, including coordination of project staffing baselines and forecasts
- Facilitate Risk, Issue and Opportunity management
- Data synthesis, aggregation, analysis, and communication
- Organize knowledge sharing, assist with improvements to team SharePoint site
- Promote team engagement activities including lunch and learns, team recognition and organizational highlights
- Support new business proposals and facilitation
- Proactively manage strategic rhythm of the organization to ensure preparedness for program and customer deadlines
- Drive a sense of urgency and act with speed to meet all needs of the business and stakeholders
This role may be filled at a Principal or Sr. Principal level based on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Project Management:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with 5 years of experience or a master's degree with 3 years of experience
- At least 2 years of professional experience within the Aerospace or Defense Industry
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Project Management:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with 8 years of experience or a master's degree with 6 years of experience
- At least 2 years of professional experience within the Aerospace or Defense Industry
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in project management
- Project integration experience
- Supplier management experience
- F-35 Program Familiarity
- Ability to brief executive management on behalf of the organization
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Technical background and/or familiarity working with technical teams
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
