Northrop Grumman Defense Sector (NGDS) is seeking a Transport C-12 Weapons System Manager for the US Army’s Transport Aircraft program to coordinate all phases of maintenance.

As the selected Transport C-12 Weapons Systems Manager, you will be responsible for the Quality and Efficiency of the C-12 Aircraft Weapon System and will assist with development and implementation of quality plans, audits, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, manufacturing concepts, tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and products conform to established company regulatory standards for this program. The Weapons Systems Manager is required to provide leadership and guidance for all contractor personnel assigned to the Task Order (TO)/program, including assigning tasks to subcontractor personnel, supervising on-going technical efforts, and managing overall Aircraft Weapon system performance.  Will assist in meeting schedules or to resolve technical or operational problems.  Act as the maintenance manager as needed.  Other duties as assigned. 

NGC Transport Program Management Office is headquartered in Huntsville Alabama.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaison with government on regular basis to coordinate all aspects of C-12 maintenance for fleet of aircraft dispersed world-wide to ensure contractual performance requirements ae met.
  • Manage aircraft maintenance and operations for deployed Army C-12 Transport fixed wing aircraft systems.
  • Ensures adherence to Northrop Grumman and program policies.
  • Maintains close coordination with the operations, logistics and program manager. Responsible for the direct management of the assigned site managers at all locations.
  • Monitor aircraft maintenance status, ensure aircraft are proactively scheduled regarding upcoming scheduled maintenance to ensure missions will be supported.
  • Build and sustain an effective, engaged, and integrated team in a complex, geographically disperse, partner-rich, and dynamic environment.
  • Direct large and small subcontractors and suppliers driving towards alignment on common program objectives and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with Supply and Logistics to ensure adequate support at all relevant sites.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for technical reviews.
  • Review and approve Over & Above work requests for aircraft undergoing heavy maintenance.
  • Keep track and report status of heavy maintenance aircraft.
  • Work with Sub-contracts, contracts and business management on all heavy maintenance requests.
  • Review all AMCOM messages, OEM and FAA Service Bulletins and if applicable, write a Maintenance Action Directive (MAD) and once approved, distribute to all affected sites.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10 year’s experience supporting Aircraft Maintenance and/or project management in military or other industries or 20 years military experience in Aviation repair unit/organization will be considered.
  • FAA certified airframe or power plant maintenance or relevant military experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience leading team performance of tasks on schedule, and achieving all requirements as project lead, integrated program team manager.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Project, Word, Powerpoint).
  • Excellent verbal, and written communications skills as well as collaborative management style, and an inherent drive to deliver on commitments.
  • Capable of obtaining and maintaining a Secret security clearance.

  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous or current FAA inspector certification
  • 20 years military or contract maintenance experience on complex turbine aircraft.
  • Previous experience as a fleet manager for an Aviation CLS activity.
  • Five (5) years or more experience with C-12 aircraft or other similar turboprop aircraft.

Salary Range: $97,300 USD - $145,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
