Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Division (SSSD) has two new opportunities for an Operations Manager. Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Division (SSSD) will be hiring two candidates for this role with one supporting the AMS Business Unit and one supporting the RISE Business Unit.  The Operations manager is a member of the BU leadership team reporting directly to the Portfolio Operations Director. The AMS and RISE BUs provide architectures, systems, payloads, advanced products and technologies to satisfy current and future needs of a variety of customer in multiple domains. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

In this role you will:

  • Be the Business Operations Focal Point for the Business Unit Leadership Team
  • Partner with the Business Unit Program PM(s), Deputy PM(s) and other Program Office staff to lead all aspects of day-to-day Operations.
  • Lead Business Unit Performance Reviews and Status Reporting
  • Support the development, execution and tracking of the BU risk, opportunity and affordability initiatives
  • Coordinate with functional home room leadership for staffing, center performance, knowledge transfer and issue resolution
  • Coordinate BU specific capital needs and expenditures,
  • Support future planning for infrastructure requirements across multiple locations / sites
  • Support coordination with a wide range of enabling organizations including but not limited to security, business management, IT, employee experience, digital transformation, program on-boarding, intern program coordination.
  • Collaborate across SSSD organizations and broader NG stakeholder organizations while ensuring strong coordination at the SSSD level.
  • Support the development of ECP proposals, preparation of ROMs and CROMs, RFIs, and planning of new scope into the BU. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR Master’s Degree and 5 years of relevant experience
  • 5 years of Team or Project Management Experience
  • 3 years of direct experience leading people, projects or programs to successful goal attainment.
  • Experience in program execution and demonstrated ability to meet program technical, cost, and schedule milestones
  • Demonstrated ability to create trusted relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex programs comprised of engineering, business, contracts, law, supply chain, production and mission/quality assurance disciplines
  • Proven ability to lead a high performing team with evidence of being able to create an inclusive work environment that attracts, retain and inspire diverse and engaged teams
  • Proven ability to deliver effective communication verbally, written, and through well-crafted presentations across all levels of an organization
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to maintain the TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience delivering space hardware on-schedule with IPT and/or Project Management experience across multiple phases of program lifecycle
  • Experience with relationship management of highly capable customers with daily communication cycles.
  • Experience leading day-to-day operations on complex programs, with proven collaboration and coordination skills across internal and external stakeholder organizations
  • Experience leading and collaborating on capital projects and resource planning across multiple phases of program lifecycle
  • Leadership experience in effective change management
  • Conflict management and negotiation skills
  • Experience with risk, issue, opportunity and affordability management
  • Demonstrated ability to make tough decisions

Salary Range: $176,100 USD - $264,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
