Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector, Networked Information Systems (NIS) Division, Growth and Mission Solutions is seeking a Manager for Mission Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis. We are looking to fill this role at the level 1 or level 2. In this exciting and challenging role, the selected individual will lead a team of mission analysts that shapes both NIS internal investments and customer acquisition decision, with the objective of accelerating overall division growth. The selected candidate must be able to manage a team effectively and engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

Acceptable locations for this role are: Northern Virginia, Baltimore, MD, and San Diego, CA

Job Description

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead a high-performing team of mission analysts including managing workflow, backlog, load balancing, and support for internal/external engagements
  • Ensure that appropriate facilities, tools, and processes are in place to support execution of the defined program of analysis
  • Support the Director, Mission Architecture and Vice President, Growth and Mission Solutions in implementing the required process and culture to enable analytical excellence
  • Work with analytical organizations across the sector, company, and key stakeholders to deliver impactful results
  • Communicate process and results effectively to key internal and external stakeholders Perform mission analysis directly as an individual contributor
  • Train and mentor new analysts

Basic Qualifications - Level 1

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of work experience or Master’s Degree and 3+ years
  • Track record of strong analytical performance including effective communication of results
  • Strong project management and team development skills
  • Direct experience with analytical tools such as CAMEO, AFSIM, STK, BRAWLER, STORM, or MATLAB
  • U.S. Citizen with active Secret clearance

Basic Qualifications - Level 2

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years of work experience or Master’s Degree and 7+ years
  • Track record of strong analytical performance including effective communication of results
  • Strong project management and team development skills
  • Direct experience with analytical tools such as CAMEO, AFSIM, STK, BRAWLER, STORM, or MATLAB
  • U.S. Citizen with active Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience formulating and executing analysis plans for live, constructive, or virtual simulation.
  • Experience related to radios, sensors, and sensor integration (radios, EO/IR, radar, ESM, RF, SAR, etc), data processing/fusion, data links, navigation.
  • General Systems or Mission Engineering skills (requirements definition, requirements analysis, functional design/decomposition, DoDAF, requirements decomposition/allocation, etc)
  • Technical depth in one or more of the following areas: IADS Threat systems (to include broad Anti-Access/Area-Denial advanced concepts) Modeling/Analysis, IADS weapons, Communications modeling, Sensor Effects, Weapon Effects, Signature Management, Threat Analysis, Survivability Analysis, Advanced Sensors, and Countermeasures.
  • Experience with agile methodologies
  • Experience with digital collaboration tools including Confluence and Jira
  • An active Top Secret clearance

This position reports to San Diego, CA, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 2 locations listed above.


Salary Range: $117,600 USD - $176,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $147,800 USD - $221,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
