Northrop Grumman Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) Division seeks a highly motivated Manager to join the Technology and Capabilities Strategy team within our PGS Engineering Workforce, Innovation & Strategy Excellence (WISE) organization.

The successful candidate will be a key contributor to shaping and implementing our engineering technical strategy and working with business and technical leaders to guide innovation, growth and technology investments. 

The position will be responsible for leading and supporting tasks to:

  • Capture, refine and coordinate technology roadmaps and investment plans in support of program captures and execution. This includes coordination with Program, Business Development, and Strategy teams.
  • Identify critical gaps and opportunities and fund seedling efforts to conceptualize and develop enabling technologies to address identified gaps.
  • Support Business Units’ pursuit of CRaD in alignment with technology roadmaps and needs assessments.
  • Drive technology collaboration across business units, divisions and sectors to maximize efficiency and utilization of Northrop Grumman technology investments
  • Collaborate and build relationships across a wide variety of stakeholders and teammates in support of Engineering growth and operational efficiency initiatives

We are seeking a strong leader with enthusiasm for tackling difficult problems, collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders, and building a vision into reality. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or other related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) curriculum
  • 10 years relevant engineering experience in development environments
  • 5 Years of experience leading engineering teams
  • Active DOD Secret or higher clearance and ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Space Sensor/Payload experience in one or more of the following areas:
    RF sensors, EO/IR sensors, Data and Signal Processing, Mission Management
  • Space Ground Systems architecture and element experience in one or more of the following areas:
    Tasking, Processing, Exploitation, Distribution, Battle Management Command and Control
  • Program or Business Management experience
  • Business Development experience
  • Strategic Planning and execution experience

This position can be performed from NGC sites in Baltimore, MD; Redondo Beach, CA; Azusa, CA; Aurora, CO; Colorado Springs, CO.

Other locations and remote options will be considered on an individual basis.

This position reports to Aurora, CO, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 4 locations listed above.


Salary Range: $160,100 USD - $264,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
