Northrop Grumman Mission System’s Navigation, Targeting and Survivability (NTS) Division has an immediate opening for a Program Director 1 for our Restricted Portfolio of EO programs within our Targeting Systems Operating Unit. This position will be located at our Rolling Meadows, IL facility, requiring travel to other Northrop Grumman facilities, customer, and supplier sites as needed. This position reports directly to the Targeting Systems Operating Unit Director and will be a full-time onsite position.

As the portfolio lead for restricted EO programs, the director will be tasked with ensuring successful execution of existing programs, as well as the strategic pursuit of new business opportunities to grow the business portfolio. In addition, the director will be responsible for the management and people leadership of a team of program managers leading the various programs and pursuits in the portfolio. This is a leadership position with daily executive interactions, and the successful candidate must display consistent impeccable judgment and embody Northrop Grumman leadership behaviors. The successful candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels, including executive leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience executing and/or growing a diverse business pipeline in the defense sector
  • Demonstrated expertise in customer shaping and engagement strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience leading restricted programs and working with restricted customers.
  • Current relationships within the customer community spanning the DoD and Prime Contractors.
  • Demonstrated program execution expertise.
  • Ability to build and lead a program management team with a vision for success and capable of delegating responsibilities to the appropriate team members.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Current SECRET clearance with ability to obtain a TOP SECRET / SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business administration and/or advanced technical or national security strategy field.
  • Relevant experience developing advanced EO Systems including Research & Development (R&D), Engineering Manufacturing Development (EMD), and Low Rate of Production (LRIP) phases.
  • Familiarization with Targeting Systems used in warfighting today.
  • Demonstrated success in capturing new business in current and adjacent markets.
  • Demonstration experience leading a team of program managers.
  • Knowledge of Northrop Grumman internal processes, procedures, and organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to present strategies to a variety of customer and internal executive audiences.
  • Current TOP SECRET / SCI clearance.

Salary Range: $194,800 USD - $292,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
