Northrop Grumman is seeking VSET Lead Manager 3's for the Value Streams located at the Promontory Utah and Bacchus Utah facility.

Responsibilities include:

  • Safety number 1: Must operate with a culture of Safety First

  • Multiple openings for VSET Lead Managers to lead a team of VSET Leads within a Value Stream. Reports directly to the Value Stream Operations Director and dotted line to the home room VSET Lead Manager who will be responsible for creating a community of practice and maintaining continuity between all VSET Managers across Propulsion Systems

  • All positions will be responsible for providing training and assistance to the individual VSET Leads in the below skills and actions

  • Execution of the SOW and constraint elimination are the main responsibilities of the VSET role

  • Train and assist in how to lead multi- functional teams to work together to resolve constraints

  • How to conduct daily meetings to status performance, drive timely and clearly communicated decisions and recommendations

  • Stay ahead of the Ops Team, work programmatic issues before they impact critical path

  • Focus support personnel on key issues that impact execution

  • Utilize metrics and trigger points to take action and escalate issues to Senior Mgmt as needed

  • Manage multiple priorities and deliverables (program, engineering, manufacturing, quality, etc.) within approved budgets

  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with other organizations including Science & Engineering, Program Management, Process Engineering, Infrastructure, Operations, and Safety & Mission Assurance

  • Champion company values, through respect, team building, and collaboration

  • Initiate continuous improvement activities to create high quality and efficient systems and standards

  • Drive a culture of compliance to command media, standards, and best practices to deliver quality products and drive down defects per 2,000 labor hours

  • Assist in the development, communication and implementation of strategies that drive safety, quality, schedule, and cost continuous improvement

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field required, engineering strongly preferred, advanced degree in engineering or business preferred

  • Six or more years in leadership as well as 10 years related experience in engineering, manufacturing, and/or program management

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a large and diverse group, establish clear expectations, inspire commitment, build teams, value diversity and put people first

  • Ability to instill accountability into organizational performance

  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of how functions work to support a Operations and leadership skills that lead to safe and high-quality product execution

  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply lean thinking principles and tools in order to improve efficiency and reduce waste

  • Ability to formulate and execute complex project plans and initiatives

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills

  • Strong business acumen and a clearly demonstrated commitment to open communication and customer satisfaction

  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a gratifying, collaborative work environment where employees are valued, empowered to undertake challenges and are encouraged to be innovative

  • Energetic operations experience including a strong working knowledge of Propulsion Systems Hazardous Operation Standards (HOPS)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret clearance

  • Direct supervision and management of staff

This position reports to Corinne, UT, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Magna, UT, UT, USA.


Salary Range: $125,700 USD - $188,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
