Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Booster IWO (Internal Work Order) Manager 3 for the Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Segment team for the Sentinel (GBSD) program within the Strategic Deterrent Division (SDS). This position will be in Roy, UT with occasional travel to other spoke locations (AZ, AL) that support the Sentinel program.  Learn more about the Sentinel program here.  Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

  

What You’ll Get To Do:    

  • Responsible for the management and execution of the Booster Development IWO at SDS currently being performed at Launch Vehicles Business Unit within Launch & Missile Defense Division (LMDS)
  • Stand up / manage and coordinate a small indirect IWO management support team
  • Responsible for SDS resource management and coordination supporting the LV Booster contract (I.e. SDS Business Mgmt., SDS security, Sys. Engineering, Test, Specialties Coordination…etc.)
  • Maintain / Flow down of Prime Statement of Work (SOW) and Spec Requirements as required ensuring program compliance
  • Chair and Coordinate Booster IDR / CDR Activities and Event Coordination with LV and SDS as required
  • SDRL review and approval, Design action tracking closure and coordination with SDS stakeholders
  • Primary CAM for Booster IWO Work Packages and Program Cost and Schedule Baseline
  • Active participant in the LV leadership Team– Co-responsible for up and out direction and cultivation of the “OneNG” culture across division lines
  • Co-responsible for active issue resolution and management up through AVE and Customer Channels
  • Co-develop customer relationship with NXB w/Booster LV Executive Leadership
  • Coordination and integration of TRB/CCB packages from the LV IWO up through AVE and program boards
  • Lead, facilitate, weekly Booster LV/SDS IMT meeting
  • Travel to AZ, AL, and/or Promontory to lead/participate sub-supplier management and review activities Monthly or as required

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.    

  

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) or Business Management disciplines (Business Administration, Economics, Finance) from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a master’s degree in a related discipline or MBA and 6 years of relevant experience.
  • 3 years of formal management experience in product team leadership, or program management, or subcontract management team leadership.
  • Active Secret clearance with adjudication within 6 years and the ability to obtain SAP or higher

  

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:  

  • Masters of Science degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Civil Engineering or Masters of Business Administration preferred
  • Experience with large Defense Acquisition Proposal Development or Business Capture Management
  • Background in large scale, high-rate production planning and execution
  • Understanding or experience of full rate production economic strategies and supply chain management
  • Previous experience developing “price to win” targets and cost reduction initiatives in a large program affordability office
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and meet program commitments in a highly fluid engineering environment
  • Ability to effectively maneuver through muti function teams, political situations and anticipate roadblocks
  • Previous experience with Large Program Life Cycle Cost Analysis, Methods, and Tools
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work with minimal direction
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary Range: $152,100 USD - $228,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
