Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Construction Superintendent Manger 3.  This position will be located at Roy, UT.   The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Minuteman (MM) III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) team supporting the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for MM III Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.

What You’ll Get To Do: 

The Construction Site Superintendent oversees all field operations on a project to ensure that self-performed and subcontracted trade work is in compliance with contract documents and the project schedule. Superintendents also enforce safety and quality control policies among employees and subcontractors. This position could have up to 10% travel.  In addition, once work is completed near Roy Utah, the opportunity will shift to the missile field near Cheyenne, WY. 

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise the timely and cost-effective installation of the contracted work of either 1) the total project or, due to size, scale and complexity, 2) a particular scope(s), subcontractor(s), or other portion(s) of the project
  • Produce daily reports and utilize the program Construction Management System (CMS)
  • Present project status during weekly Tag-Up meetings
  • Provide on-the-job training opportunities for Project/Construction Engineers. Encourages and/or participates in staff training and development
  • Plan and organize project work to assure all work is in place in accordance with contract documents
  • Have working knowledge of owner contract, subcontracts and purchase orders
  • Know the scheduled delivery dates for all critical path material and equipment
  • Know the submittal schedule
  • Update the project schedule monthly and in accordance with contract documents
  • Develop and maintain a three-week look ahead schedule
  • Supervise field work force to assure all work is put in place in the most cost-efficient manner
  • Schedule and monitor field productivity
  • Working with the full time NG Safety representative, enforce the safety program (EM385-1-1)
  • Working with the full time NG Quality Control representative, enforce quality (USACE CQM)
  • Assist in resolution of scope conflicts; Participate in the project management functions
  • Assure punch list is completed in a timely manner

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Job Qualifications: 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience.  An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in a formal management/leadership position
  • 1+ years’ experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • 10 years of experience with a large-scale construction contractor.
  • 8 years of experience with the construction process including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, manpower, etc.
  • 4 years of experience leading field operations.
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulations (i.e., OSHA)

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • 2 years of experience working with the US Army Corps of Engineers.
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulations (i.e., EM 385 1-1, USACE CQM).
  • Active Secret or Top-Secret clearance with most recent investigation within 6 years.

Salary Range: $103,800 USD - $155,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
