Northrop Grumman Marine Systems-Silverdale, WA specializes in the material sustainment and support of the U.S. Navy’s Ohio class submarine ballistic missile launchers and associated launcher support equipment and is seeking a Field Site Manager at our location on Naval Base Kitsap, WA. 

 

What You'll Get to Do:

·         Oversee and manage the Northrop Grumman field site operations at Naval Base Kitsap, WA and at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, WA.

·         Directly supervise 3 managers: The Production Engineering Manager, Technician Manager, Waterfront Operations Manager, a casual (part time) employee and Administrative Assistant and a team of about 30 full time employees.

·         Develop and foster a team environment. Be an example of Northrop Grumman’s leadership values and behaviors.

·         Ensure all Level of Effort contractual obligations are completed on time and to cost.

·         Earn all incentives without compromising safety or violating procedural compliance.

·         Manage direct charge and indirect charge labor hours with no overages. Keep supervisor informed of schedule and cost challenges that negatively affect labor costs.

·         Develop and sustain customer relationships through personal meetings, email, and phone calls.

·         Be responsive to all customer requests.

·         Ensure all Explosive Wharf Operations, Special Testing, and Routine and Emergent submarine launcher repairs are conducted expeditiously and to work specifications.

·         Ensure the field site is well trained, cross trained, and able to provide the technical expertise to troubleshoot and repair submarine launchers and all launcher support equipment.

·         Ensure the field site has a meaningful training plan that develops skills and creates talent depth in all positions.

·         Keep supervisor informed of all significant submarine launcher or launcher support equipment casualties and estimated time to repair. Include periodic updates until repairs are complete.

·         Ensure all engineering decisions made for any non-conformances of launcher equipment are communicated to the customer with recommendations for resolution.

·         Ensure all equipment configuration changes are done to work specifications; prepare for and professionally execute equipment cross decking from the Ohio class submarines.

·         Ensure a safe work environment that complies with U.S. Navy, Northrop Grumman, and OSHA standards. Maintain and track appropriate metrics to monitor trends.

·         Ensure all operators have required licenses; all necessary certifications and qualifications are maintained.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree with 10 years of management experience
  • Familiarization with strategic weapons systems or U.S. Navy Combat Systems and Weapons Systems
  • Secret Clearance Required

Salary Range: $139,000 USD - $208,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
