Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space Systems Division, has an opening for a Manager Data Analytics 2 to join our team of highly qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.

These are highly dynamic, interactive positions. You will interact with numerous stakeholders including program management, systems engineering, flight hardware design engineers and logistical support services. Outstanding organizational and leadership skills are required to succeed in these roles.

The Data Analytics team within the Operations organization is looking for a functional manager who will also provide technical leadership to space programs. 

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Staffing support to all space systems and space programs.
  • Conducting periodic performance evaluations, including mid-year and annual reviews
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to the staff
  • Managing indirect and capital needs
  • Professional development and mentoring of direct reports
  • Supporting Functional Homeroom initiatives and projects which include process improvement
  • Facilitating technology-based process improvement (i.e. risk and cost reduction) initiatives involving the creation, management, engineering, analysis, and use of data to support key business decisions
  • Developing requirements for data visualizations, analyses, decision support systems, recommendation engines, and databases
  • Coordinating scrum activities in support of data projects including management of requirements and tasks via a software tool (e.g. Jira, Azure Dev Ops)
  • Communicating key project status information to stakeholders and customers and incorporates feedback into data product backlogs based on these interactions
  • Preparing cost and schedule estimates for data related projects in support of strategic planning activities
  • Conducting detailed evaluations and providing recommendations regarding data capture, analysis, and operations technology in support of data science initiatives

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline plus 5 years of engineering experience OR Masters of Science Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline plus 3 years of engineering experience
  • Proven leadership experience on a project, program, and/or team
  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry
  • Familiarity with basic manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and quality assurance concepts
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning, Manufacturing Execution, and Product Lifecycle Management system concepts (e.g. Material Resource Planning engines, Bills of Material)
  • Experience working on rapid development hardware or software projects
  • Candidate must have ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance OR SCI Access

  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of spacecraft design, engineering, manufacturing, integration, supply chain and test processes
  • Scrum Master or Product Owner certification
  • Experience with a project management ticketing software (e.g. Atlassian Jira, Microsoft Azure DevOps)
  • Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment systems and pipeline tools (e.g. Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, Bamboo)
  • Experience programming in a high-level programming language (e.g. Python, C#, Java)
  • Knowledge of data science and data engineering concepts (e.g. machine learning, relational database design) including potential applications and implementation strategies
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance OR SCI Access

Salary Range: $134,600 USD - $201,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
