Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Data Analytics Manager 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.

Position Overview:

  

The Data Analytics Manager 1 will join the Missile Defense Solutions (MDS) Team to work on multiple programs within the Business Unit (BU).

Responsibilities will include direct supervision of the staff, assignment of work, schedules, day to day workflow, and operating costs, schedule, and technical performance, including work related to a specific unit or work package on a large system development-type contract; or broad responsibility for all aspects of program performance on a delivery order or small technical services-type contract.  Will also prepare operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.

Essential Functions:  

  • Builds and codes applications and/or modules using languages such as C++, visual basic, ABAP, JAVA, XTML, etc.
  • May design graphical user interface (GUI) to meet the specific needs of users.
  • May build add-on modules using application program language.
  • Leads identification of optimized digital analytics strategies and tools based on stakeholders’ needs as identified across the business unit.
  • Supports data analysts in programs and functional areas within the business unit by providing guidance, recommendations, and expertise.
  • Acts as liaison to decision makers by providing data-informed strategic directions and/or supports improvements to customers’ data visualization strategies.
  • Provides direction to subordinates using established policies and precedents.
  • Monitors work operations of exempt and/or non-exempt direct reports on a daily basis and actively assists or provides direction to subordinates as required.
  • Executes department procedures that typically affect individual employees within own department.
  • Administers and executes policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 years of related experience, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree will be considered
  • Experience streamlining business processes using technology, tools and automated workflows
  • Experience building data visualizations, including usage of tools such as Tableau, Alteryx and SharePoint
  • Experience leading the implementation of new tools, visualizations and improvements to existing ways of working by leveraging digitalization
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time
  • Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government security clearance at the DoD Secret level, and a minimum of an interim Secret clearance is required to start.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering field
  • DoD background in Space , Aerospace or Defense
  • Lean Expert Certification or Agile/Scrum Certification
  • Proven success in leading multiple process improvement teams/activities across programs or disciplines
  • Proactive self-starter comfortable working across different areas of the business
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodology (Scrum / Kanban) applications and Tools (Atlassian JIRA / Confluence) 
  • A working knowledge of Project Management principles and familiarity with concepts such as Integrated Management Systems
  • Intermediate knowledge in:
    • Tableau and/or Power BI for data analytics
    • SharePoint
    • Azure DevOps and/or Jira
  • A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance

Salary Range: $101,800 USD - $152,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
