Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector (NGAS) is currently seeking a level 2 Security Manager to join our team in Palmdale, CA.

Roles and Responsibilities: Develops and administers security programs and procedures for classified or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment. Studies and implements federal security regulations that apply to company operations. Obtains rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agencies. Prepares manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitors access to restricted records and materials. Develops and implements security education program. Oversees internal security audits. Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken. Provides direction to security team members to assist with the execution of their statement of work. Assist with team members' professional development and growth.

Additional responsibilities include:

*Leading a team of security professionals to ensure consistent application of the leadership characteristics that are expected of all employees within the organization.

*Ensuring employee engagement across the team.

*Collaboration across teams within the Security organization.

*Providing leadership, guidance, and professional development/mentoring to professionals at all levels.

*Developing and implementing security policy and standards across the program enterprise.

*Ensuring all program performance objectives as well as key milestones and deliverables are met.

*Managing a security budget within an established target.

*Manage program security compliance and operations across multiple functions- PHYSEC, COMSEC, Investigations and Document Control Managment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6 + years Security experience with a bachelor's degree; OR 4+ years with a master's degree OR an additional years of security experience can be used in Lieu of degree.

  • This position requires an Active DOD Secret Clearance, with investigation completed within the last 5 years, and Special Access Program (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) accesses within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) as well as DoD Manual 5205.07 Volumes 1-4, and other US Government security manuals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to execute Security and Program Management concepts.

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance.

  • Experience managing multiple function teams across the program enterprise.

  • Excellent communication, writing and organization skills, enabling effective communications with team members, fellow employees and government officials.

  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimal oversight.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to interact with internal/external customers.


Salary Range: $122,200 USD - $183,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
