Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems sector is seeking a Systems Engineer / Principal Systems Engineer on the Command and Launch System Integration team.  This position is in our Strategic Deterrent Systems Division to execute the Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase of the Sentinel Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program in support of the United States Air Force.  This position will be located on campus in Roy, UT and may require on-site support at product manufacturing and integration sites.

What You’ll Get To Do: 

The qualified candidate will support segment level integrated assembly design and architecture. They will be coordinating and collaborating with diverse engineering design teams to assist in managing the technical baseline to help facility the integration of multiple teams’ products to meet segment level requirements.

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

• Support the development of segment level assemblies that combine and integrate inputs from several of the five elements making up the Command and Launch Segment.
• Lead working groups to elicit inputs and document design to support architecture definition.
• Achieve all required design reviews and support the release of approved designs for use by the assembly and deployment teams. 
• Integrating design change and maturation requests and by identifying and communicating impacts to other teams for inputs/consideration. 
• Implementing program processes and engineering board approval processes for products generated within the deployment architecture group.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.   

Job Qualifications: 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• Systems Engineer:  Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with 2 years’ experience; 0 years’ experience with a Master’s 
• Principal Systems Engineer:  Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with 5 years’ experience; 3 years’ experience with a Master’s degree; or 0 years’ experience with a PhD 
• Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with a investigations date within the last 6 years.
• Ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) Clearance  
• Must be able to work independently, function in a dynamic environment, and be flexible to changing direction
• Understanding of systems engineering principles and processes
• Ability to work closely with multiple functional organizations (Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Field Operations, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Experience with design and fabrication techniques for structural details, assemblies, and installations

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

• Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
• ICBM experience
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities.
• Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain and difficult situations.
• Strong sense of urgency and work ethic in ensuring engineering meets customer and program expectations in a timely and efficient manner
• Experience in leading/supporting a development engineering team
• Demonstrated experience working with customers to ensure project success
• Experience in performing in an Agile environment and knowledge/understanding of JIRA

Salary Range: $73,400 USD - $110,000 USD

Salary Range 2: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
