As a logistics team member, it is very important that you foster a culture within the Logistics Department team members that show-cases cross-functional teamwork.

The logistics team’s main role is to ensure that the production floor does not stop operating and ensure everyone’s request are being completed in a timely fashion. Additional role includes and are not limited to supporting analysis of current process to determine effectiveness, and creating written recommendation for increasing efficiency and effectiveness. This includes some of the following duties:

  • Coordinate material movement with purchasing /track the movement of material and asset property between work centers, user, and another department.
  • Provide forecast and supportability analysis and determined is required need for consumable assets is higher than forecast demand plan.
  • Work in a HAZMAT environment and follow procedures and ordering requirements.
  • Provide root-cause analysis and solution on system issue that negatively impact material control/production control performance.
  • Evaluate finding to formulate corrective actions.
  • Works with multiple teams and cross-functional departments
  • Complies reports, plans and prevention for management /project leaders.
  • Support the efficient flow of information internally and externally.
  • Serve as central point for disseminating inter-departmental communication.
  • May develop or update functional or operational manuals outlining or establishes methods of performing work in accordance with organizational policy and procedures.
  • Works independently without direct supervision
  • Handles Hazardous Material and understands Safety Data Sheet
  • Understands material control, Cycle counting and planning.
  • Fulfill urgent orders and develop a system to speed up delivery of hot items.
  • Standardize supply chain process and contribute newly establishes procedures to technical documentation library.
  • Participate in training and onboarding of new logistics staff if needed.
  • Maintain ongoing data collection, continuously monitor key metric, and produce monthly progress report and findings at regular scheduled meeting.
  • Coordinate the procurement of materials needed for production, develop product-specific storage solution.
  • Takes responsibility for product “lifecycle.”
  • Insight in dealing with obstacle and resolving conflict.
  • Travel and support Ridgecrest as needed.
  • Lead the logistics and stockroom team through problem – solving.
  • Attending CAB board meeting
  • Overseas the stockroom, logistics, Hazardous handler and expedite.
  • Check and track daily the high-risk items!
  • Monitor spreadsheet for any updates.
  • Attend escalation meeting with Supply chain.
  • Monitor Consumables list.
  • Monitor VMI Rack
  • Cross-functional training

Also, controls the efficient flow of goods, services, and information between point of origin through customer placement to meet customer requirements. Ensures that customer service and time objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints to meet marketing and financial objectives. Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes, such as the replenishment system, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration and related functions. Builds relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives. Integrates learning from customers, competitors, operating entities, distribution, transportation, customer service, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve competitive position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience tracking material disposition in Costpoint
  • Experience in receiving, maintaining, and the accountability of GFE
  • HazMat certified.
  • IUID marking and processes.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in program, process and/or project management skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills along with professional demeanor that extends to all levels of the organization.
  • Required to have flexibility and ability to operate in high-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Current and active secret clearance
  • HAZMAT, HAZMIN, HAZWASTE, HAZWOPER Qualified
Salary Range: $78,500 - $117,700
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
