Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) has an opening for a Microelectronics/ Equipment Support Technician 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Manhattan Beach, California.

As a Equipment Support technician you will maintain and repair semiconductor equipment in a clean room lab. The is a clean room environment in which multiple technician support. You will be directly working with production and engineering partners to enable proper and safe equipment operations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and or GED with 6 years of experience with microelectronics semiconductor equipment.

  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment

  • Experience repairing and maintaining 1 or more of the following: metal evaporators, sputtering systems, plasma etchers, photoresist coater/dev and ion implanters.

  • Individual must be proficient in following procedures, understand/read system manuals and electrical schematics, effectively use hand tools, DMM’s, oscilloscopes and other pertinent specialized test equipment, also must be capable of troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical parts down to its component level.

  • Effective writing skills are essential as well as being able to use Microsoft Office as candidate will also be required to write equipment reports and documentation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must work well as a member of a team and be able to adapt to a changing environment.

  • Outstanding inter personal and leadership skills are essential as well as having continuous desire for technical growth.


Salary Range: $73,200 USD - $122,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
