Looking for a Software Configuration and Data Management (SCM) multitasking candidate to support a dynamic and active team on the Strike program.  Knowledgeable and intimately familiar with Atlassian tool suites such as Jira and Confluence.  Looking for an adaptable change agent with a forward thinking development mindset willing to work very aggressive schedules for SW builds and deliveries in order to meet critical milestones.

Candidate must be process oriented and will ensure baseline changes are maintained, properly documented and incorporated.  Must retain department

library consisting of both electronic and physical media containing internal developed and supplier delivered SW.  Actively supports integration, formal qualification, and system certification test within a lab environment.  Supports the Change Request Board when changes affect the SW baseline by providing bids on behalf of SCM.  Trains new SCM team members, provides SCM metrics and

forecasts to leadership.


Candidate will support the review and release of multiple software builds and software documentation to ensure product configuration is maintained and complies with the sector command media procedures / program practices. Additional tasks include supporting the Software Review Board (SRB), attend BRRs/Technical Readiness Reviews (TRRs), Integrated Functional Capabilities (IFC) daily meetings, back-up for document control, and creating software status and forecasts for software releases.  Role includes supporting bids or Change Request (CR) impacts, proposals, and other future bids on behalf of SCM.  Responsible for configuration status accounting activity, functional configuration internal audits and or supplier audits as required to ensure all physical media is accountable.  Provide process training for new hires, serves as delegation of authority in the absence of a SCM lead and overall SCM support. Candidate must possess a proficient knowledge and use of the company standard configuration management tool(s), such as ClearCase, ClearQuest, Teamcenter Enterprise, and MS Office applications.

This position is for Palmdale, CA and requires a Top-Secret clearance with Program Access to the Strike program.

This position can be filled at either the Principal or Senior Principal Level based on the qualifications below:

Basic Qualifications for Principal Engineer Level:  
•    5 years of relevant experience with bachelor’s degree or master’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience
•    Active DoD Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access prior to employment


Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Engineer Level:
•    9 years of relevant experience and bachelor’s degree or master’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience or 4 years' experience with PhD.
•    Active DoD Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access prior to employment


Preferred Qualifications at Either Level:
•    Special Program Access | Current PAR
•    Experience with Jira and Confluence
•    Knowledge and fluent in tool development
•    Experience working in an agile environment


Salary Range: $86,300 USD - $129,500 USD
Salary Range 2: $107,000 USD - $160,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
