Business Systems Analyst

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems Sector is seeking a Business Systems Analyst. There are a total of two positions available within the Melbourne, Fl, Oklahoma City, OK, Palmdale or San Diego, CA areas.

Our Aerospace Systems team develops, integrates, produces, and supports manned and unmanned aircraft, high-energy laser systems, microelectronics, and other systems and subsystems critical to keeping the world safe.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Business Management team working directly on a classified program. These programs require employees to be 100% onsite and offer no options for teleworking. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where they will interact with Program cost and schedule management users, as well as the Sector level Business Systems group including software developers.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support Cobra (EVMS) software application used by Cost & Schedule Management
  • Perform Cobra System Administrator functions such as access controls, monthly processes, integration with Project Server, Rate/Resource updates and code field updates
  • Act as the Cobra Subject Matter Expert on the program helping to train program personnel
  • Act as the first line of defense in addressing user questions and issues
  • Team with the Sector Systems group to ensure configuration of Cobra environment remains consistent to Sector standards
  • Play a vital role in the adoption of the Sector Standard web based Earned Value Applications that integrate with both Cobra and Microsoft Project Server
  • In conjunction with Sector software developers create reporting capabilities to address data calls and ad hoc requests more efficiently
  • Develop “lite programming” solutions using SQL, VBA, and Power BI

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration
  • 1-2 years of Cobra experience
  • Current DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain special program access
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated exposure to technology and “lite” programming exposure (SQL, VBA, etc)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively on project teams
  • Self-motivated, organized, possess strong interpersonal, analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with a variety of management levels

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management or Computer Information Systems (MIS or CIS), or related degree
  • Strong Microsoft Office and relational database skill
  • Software programming knowledge in VB or VBA
  • Familiarity with MS Project Server and Power BI

Oklahoma City Pay Range: $66,000 - $94,600

Melbourne, FL Pay Range: $66,600 - $99,800

Palmdale, or San Diego, CA Pay Range: $77,100 - $115,700

This position reports to Palmdale, CA, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 3 locations listed above.


Salary Range: $63,000 USD - $115,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
