Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Configuration Analyst or Principal Configuration Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individualsThis position is located in Redondo Beach, CA.

As a Configuration Management/Data Management Analyst you will part of a team reporting developing and sustaining systems using current technologies and others yet to come. We are seeking team members who have a thirst for knowledge, approach each day with optimism, and have a relentless drive to solve complex problems. Creativity and innovation are imperative for this role, because at Northrop Grumman, many of the problems we work on are impossible… until they’re not. 

They will be expected to adhere to Company and Program procedures and policies and reflect excellent quality and attention to detail; Administer Data Management on Subcontractor Data Requirements List (SDRL) using our Product Data Management tools such as SharePoint, Data Management Delivery System (DMDS) and Teamcenter Enterprise. Schedule, track and process Supplier Data Requirement Lists (SDRLs) and ensure data integrity through audit processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead CDM focal point, supporting, leading and training the CDM team and providing direct support to the manager
  • Responsible for maintaining all CDM program procedures, processes, and work instructions working with each discipline within the CDM group to ensure these document are maintained and kept current
  • Cross matrix and match up program procedures to Sector processes and get waivers, if needed
  • support proposal development for CDM support and assisting estimating efforts
  • Provide back-up support for change boards, CDRL assistance, and other CDM related tasks when needed
  • Serve as the focal point for control, storage, retrieval, and delivery of all CDM data 
  • Set up the CDM (document, software and hardware) processes and controls specifically for this program
  • Control engineering and document releases, including plan and coordinate preparation of project documentation (such as engineering drawings, production specifications, programmatic documents and others), to ensure requirements are met
  • Control change requests for configuration items.  Administer change configuration review boards.
  • Track and close changes and action items
  • Process and track program contract and supplier deliverables
  • Maintain the CM Library and baselines
  • Interact frequently with data originators, program managers, and customer representatives concerning project deliverables and deliverable data scheduling requirements
  • Plan and coordinate preparation of project documentation, such as engineering documentation and drawings, subcontractor specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met. 
  • Review contract requirements to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing
  • Coordinate modification records for management control. 
  • Establish change orders and prepare for change authorization and documentation by internal organizations and subcontractors. 
  • Review and analyze released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities. 
  • Prioritize requests and communicate schedule to all stakeholders including customers 
  • Collaborate with other team leads 
  • Perform baseline (product) management, hardware release and replication management, configuration item identification, software build releases, and configuration audits 
  • Control configuration items, product traceability matrices, documents, and software media, CM records, and software libraries 
  • Perform change management and status identification 
  • Manage/coordinate program strategic council, support PIT tasking related to Data Management and track work status/metrics in support of team activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • For Analyst Level - Bachelor’s degree with 2 years’ experience or 0 years’ experience with a Master’s degree
  • For Principal Analyst Level - Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience or 3 years’ experience with a Master’s degree
  • Knowledge of software / hardware configuration, data and change management principles and proficiency in the use of configuration management tools 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated and able to effectively work with all levels of the organization 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficient in tools such as Adobe, TeamCenter, CMDL, Collaborator, and other related CM programs
  • Must have an active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) and the ability to obtain Program Access.


Salary Range: $70,200 USD - $105,200 USD
Salary Range 2: $86,300 USD - $129,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
