Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space Systems Division, has an opening for a Technical Operations Lead 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.

The Materials & Sciences Laboratories Department is looking for an experienced, dedicated individual to join our team as a Technical Operations Lead reporting to the Department Manager and collaborating with the directorate Integration & Operations team. The successful candidate will support the Department Manager on a daily basis in leading and supporting a range of tasks to support the MSL team and serving as a liaison between project management and planning, the department leadership team, and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be a proactive, organized, self-starter who excels in working in a fast-paced environment and effectively managing multiple ongoing tasks, projects, and streams of communication.

The Technical Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operational aspects of the laboratories including, but not limited to:

• Actively interface and communicate with a wide range of highly motivated technical and non-technical stakeholders both internal and external to the department

• Support routine communications like staffing charts, team events, and internal status reports and needs

• Oversee progress of technical projects and budgets in conjunction with project leads

• Prepare and coordinate reports as needed by the MSL leadership team

• Organize and lead team engagement activities

• Track ongoing needs between the labs as related to facilities, equipment, and purchasing

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university plus 5 years experience performing relevant responsibilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft office products including and not limited to: Mail, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Project.

• Strong demonstrated verbal and written communications skills

• Strong organization skills

• Demonstrated success leading projects and teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with tools including Tableau, EPS, SAP, and Solumina

• Familiarity with navigating NG systems or tools. (SAP, iBUY, CPATS, CCOM, ENOVIA, AssetSmart, TEAMMS, Solumina, etc.)

• Familiarity with materials testing and laboratories

Salary Range: $95,000 USD - $142,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
