LMDS has an opening for a Mechanical Tech 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Vandenberg AFB , California

Performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the development of mechanical and electromechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies and components. Drafts detailed drawings for fabrication. Devices, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies. Sets up and tests complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions. Analyzes data and recommends modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications.

Basic Qualifications:

 

AA or other 2-year technical degree in related discipline and or 10 years of related experience

 

•    Must have or can obtain a Secret Clearance

 

Previous aerospace or military experience in the following:

 

•    Reading/understanding technical drawings and work instructions

•    Hands on operations of large, small, and fragile, ESD sensitive electronics
•    Mixing and application of adhesives and ablative materials
•    High pressure pneumatic and hydraulic control systems
•    Ordnance handling, assembly, and test

•    Overhead crane operator

•    Proficient use of various mechanical tools

•    Proficient with forklifts, man lifts, and heavy equipment
•    Calibrated measuring devices, multi meters, micrometers, calipers, and torque wrenches. •    Preventative maintenance practices

•    Adhere to established policies and procedures pertaining to job safety and security

•    Must be able to travel up to 4 weeks per year
•    Must be willing and able to work occasional odd shifts and extra hours
•    Ability to engage in an environment of continuous product and process improvement
•    High integrity and strong work ethics
•    Flexible and able to deal with multiple tasks simultaneously
•    Calm under pressure
•    Excellent communicator one on one or in group setting
•    Productive time management
•    Able to collaborate and effectively work in a team-oriented environment 

Salary Range: $61,700 USD - $102,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
