AOA Xinetics (AOX), a wholly-owned Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Payload and Ground Systems Division Business Unit, is a leading supplier of complex electro-optic and photonic systems and subsystems that control and manipulate light waves for a variety of applications. We are seeking an Electronics Technician 2 to join our Special Programs Team in East Hartford, CT.

Overview

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Electronics Technician 2 will perform routine technical functions related to the support of manufacturing activities such as testing, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical and electro-optic systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment.  Applications may include analog, digital and/or video type circuits and logic systems. Guidance will be readily available from technical staff. 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Work from schematics, drawings, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform routine testing, checkout, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks

  • Conduct defined engineering tests, collect data as assigned, and utilize routine development or diagnostic equipment

  • Perform routine operational tests and fault isolation on development systems and equipment to ensure conformance with design specifications

  • Diagnose and isolate malfunctions down to component level

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years of related technical experience; Transitioning Military/Veterans related technical experience encouraged to apply

  • Experience working with Oscilloscopes, VOM, DVM, signal generators, power meters, and similar hand and test tools

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings

  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills

  • U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Electronics or similar discipline

  • Active Top Secret Clearance

  • J-STD-001 Soldering expertise and/or certification

  • IPC-620 Cable and Harness expertise and/or certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time

  • Manual dexterity and good eye/hand coordination

Salary Range: $51,800 USD - $86,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
