The Sustainment Integration and Control Division incorporates sustainment to include logistics, supply and services, and distribution management, human resources (HR) and health service support (HSS), current & future doctrine and best practices into the design and execution of WFXs IAW FORSCOM Business Rules, MCTP Operation Groups, Senior Mentor and MCTP leadership guidance and direction. The contractor team is comprised of two general sustainment planners and one human resources / health service support planner.

Assigned tasks include:

  • Ensure integration of guidance, Sustainment Common Operational Picture (COP), Medical Common Operational Picture (MEDCOP), and efforts of all Sustainment Work/ Response Cell Controllers (WCC) within the various Work and Response Cells (WC/RCs) during the WFXs IOT meet Training Audience sustainment training objectives.
  • Provide Sustainment subject matter expertise (SME) to the Sustainment Integration/Control Cell in the areas of HR and HSS. Assist in the MCTP orders writing process for the Higher Command and Sustainment Higher Command (HICOM & SHICOM) orders, and the implementation and execution of those orders during the WFX.
  • Conduct SHICOM coordination as required and provide guidance and direction in the execution of the SHICOM’s duties and responsibilities.
  • Assist in directing the Sustainment WC/RCs.
  • Attend/participate in all required Exercise Life Cycle (ELC) events prior to WFX execution.
  • Prepare sustainment information required to support all training needs; assists in facilitation of the HR/HSS portions of the Sustainment Workgroup as necessary during all ELC events.
  • Synchronize the efforts of all participating sustainment strategic HR and HSS partners during WFXs and replicates or simulates any required strategic partner effort not provided, as necessary to meet training objectives.
  • Synchronize sustainment requirements across all MCTP Operations Groups to meet the HR and HSS training objectives and needs of all training audiences. Additionally, conduct/participate in required sustainment synchronization meetings to ensure shared understanding and collaboration across all Warfighting Functions throughout MCTP and its Operations Groups.
  • Coordinate with all required sustainment external agencies to include the Logistics Exercise Support Directorate (LESD), the Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM), and USAF Air Mobility Command, in support of exercises to meet sustainment training requirements for HR and HSS.
  • Review/coordinate prepared sustainment mission supported event list (MSELs and requisite storylines with the MCTP S35 Storyline Team to ensure the MSELs and storylines meet all sustainment training requirements for HR and HSS
  • Coordinate with applicable MCTP Operations Groups as necessary for the sustainment forces requirements within the Exercise Support Manning Document (ESMD) and Simulation Control Plan (SCP) requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of professional leadership experience or Master’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of professional leadership experience
  • Intermediate Level Education (ILE/MEL4) graduate
  • Former field grade officer or a senior Warrant Officer (CW4/5)
  • U.S. citizenship with an active DoD Secret security clearance required to start.
  • Must have served successfully in a key sustainment developmental position at the corps/division/brigade/battalion level.
  • Must have strong knowledge of doctrinal and operational sustainment with focus on HR and HSS, at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels of command.
  • Must be familiar with all current and emerging US Army doctrine, regulations, as well as joint force regulations and publications applicable to this position prior to employment.
  • Must have experience working in a dynamic, ever-changing environment while producing quality work to demanding and evolving timescales and requirements.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel software. Additionally, must be proficient in required software operating in an on-line collaborative environment to include the Army 365 suite of programs and tools.
  • Must be able to travel in the United States and overseas to support simulation-based Army training exercises as needed (up to 25% of the time)
  • Must be able to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel (O-5) equivalent or above.
  • Service and experience with HR or HSS organizations from tactical to strategic level.
  • Prior HR/HSS assignment to a theater/expeditionary sustainment command or special operations sustainment positions.

Salary Range: $84,100 USD - $126,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
