Work closely with our engineering team in an electronics prototype development laboratory.  Support research and development, engineering development and transition-to-production efforts on a wide variety of product types. 

Duties include building, testing, and troubleshooting electronic circuit boards; test setups; cables; assemblies; and various assembly and test fixtures. 

Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as circuit and system performance, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Use personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.

The ideal candidate would demonstrate excellent attention to detail and meticulous record keeping ability, strong computer aptitude and excellent written and oral communication skills.  With career progression, the individual would take on more responsibility and complex build and test efforts, document hardware configurations, develop assembly processes and test procedures, and make suggestions to the engineering team for improvements.  Must have a strong work ethic and learning attitude, have a safety-oriented mindset, and be a responsible, motivated team player capable of working individually and as a team member in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications (Level 2 Engineering Technician):

  • 2 years of electronics experience.

  • Good understanding of electronics fundamentals and have basic computer skills.

  • Able to read schematics and drawings, follow written and oral instructions, communicate effectively.

  • Basic soldering skills and ability to earn IPC J-STD-001 certification with provided training.

  • Ability to safely use basic hand tools and shop equipment.

  • Candidate must have the ability to acquire a Security Clearance.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and provide proof of citizenship.

Desired Skills (Level 2 Engineering Technician):

  • Proficiency with electronics fundamentals, testing, and troubleshooting.

  • Strong capabilities in fundamental and advanced RF and microwave concepts and measurement techniques.

  • Proficiency in the use of general lab equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators, analyzers, and various meters.

  • High skill level soldering electronic assemblies. 

  • Associate Degree or 2 year certificate in electronics technology or equivalent education

Required Qualifications (Level 3 Engineering Technician):

  • 4 years of electronics experience.

  • Good understanding of electronics fundamentals and have basic computer skills.

  • Able to read schematics and drawings, follow written and oral instructions, communicate effectively.

  • Basic soldering skills and ability to earn IPC J-STD-001 certification with provided training.

  • Ability to safely use basic hand tools and shop equipment.

  • Candidate must have the ability to acquire a Security Clearance.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and provide proof of citizenship.

Salary Range: $49,400 USD - $82,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $58,800 USD - $98,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
