We are looking for you to join our team as a Sr. Principal Field Technician supporting the VADER Storm program out of Fort Hood Texas.  Travel to other locations will be required on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.

What You’ll get to Do:

Installs, operates, maintains, repairs, and modifies equipment. Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Installs, upgrades, and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change. Maintains effective customer communications and relations. Provide on the Job VADER training and act as consultant to Army customer support personnel. The position requires working on a Flight Line supporting a sophisticated payload performing functions such as:

- Pre-Flight testing

- Evaluation of Pre-Flight and Built in Test results

- Use of complex RF and digital test equipment to resolve issues

- Consult on Removal and Replacement of Chassis’

- Maintaining maintenance reports

- Coordinating with collaborators, prime, partners, team members and customers for reporting daily, weekly status

- Work independently and on small teams, be an effective communicator and can quickly learn, operate and test a complex system

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Field Technician:

  • High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of relevant VADER experience; or an Associate's degree in a technical field plus 4 years of relevant VADER experience.
  • US Citizenship with an active Secret Clearance.
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting complex electronic systems.
  • Experience working on Flight Line.
  • Must be willing to work on various schedule of both day and night shifts, to meet the customer’s mission requirements.
  • Candidate will be required to perform physically demanding work outside in a noisy environment (50% of job involves physical work around aircraft and back-shop test equipment), to include standing for long periods of time, exposure to elements, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Us Army Flight Line Experience AND experience working on the VADER Radar
  • Working familiarity with VADER army and DHS operations.
  • Experience of hands-on use of electronic and RF test equipment
  • Proven track record working directly with and consulting with military customers.
  • Experience with the processing and exploitation of the VADER radar data.

Salary Range: $63,200 USD - $105,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
